As an artist who loves to walk the shores of the Hudson River, I am always on the hunt for the challenging rock that looks unbalanceable. In the spring of 2015 I found that challenger, in a beautiful atmosphere with such a pink stunning sunset background. I was so inspired that I started to build a sculpture that I was picturing in my mind. Before I knew it that idea manifested into the stairway, a tower, some kind of staircase ascending into the sky. I just kept using the right choice of rock to create a tower that was standing tall. Suddenly as I lost track of time the tide was coming in. It was at this moment I realize this was going to be my first big sculpture documentary. The atmosphere was absolutely beautiful and it was a dream that I wanted to complete. This sculpture launched me on my journey of documenting the cycle of impertinence. Shortly after this beautiful experience O+ festival contacted me about doing a sculpture installment at Northern Dutchess Hospital. The moment they ask me this, I knew what I wanted to do, take the stairway from the river and reinstall it at this unique location. Northern Dutchess paired me with a film maker by the name of Sarah Carlson. The two of us had a blast as we got to document the rebuild of this beautiful art piece. The reconstructed sculpture still stands at Northern Dutchess Hospital to this day.
